Petit Jean Workshop

Glamping at it's finest!  Petit Jean Mountain has some of the most amazing views in Arkansas and YURTS!!!  So what better place to hold a workshop?  After 8 years and at least 20 workshops under my belt,  it is time to share a those things that I have learned with others.  Out of the workshops I have attended, I feel the small ones are the best because there is more time for a little more one on one, so I am limiting this workshop to 8 attendees. I wanted to merge 2 of my favorite things: photography and camping.  But we are going to spice it up a little with glamping.  Think a yurt, canoe, campfire, waterfall, and smores!   The cost of the workshop is $450 but $50 will be waived if...

Monterey Workshop by Laura & Rachel

For the last 2 years, I have heard so much about how magical the lighting is in California.  I had dreamed of maybe one day shooting there but really didn't think that dream would ever come true until one day on facebook, I saw where my friend Laura Hernandez was having her first workshop.  I thought about attending for a total of 30 seconds before I sent her a message that I wanted to attend.  After all, I had admired her work for quite sometime.  So without hesitation, I paid for the invoice and then started dreaming.  Attending a California workshop from some of the most talented of photographers, was a dream! January is usually down time for photographers but I love to use it for education.  I am big on...

Southern Wedding Photographer's  guide to the perfect engagement session with your wedding photographer. DO WE REALLY NEED ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS? One of my biggest goals as a wedding photographer is to improve the overall experience of my couples.  That is why I automatically include engagement sessions with all of my credit base wedding packages.   There are several reasons why some couples choose not to do engagement sessions with their wedding photographer. My friend is new to photography and has offered to do them for free. It's just not in our budget We really just don't see the need The reasons can seem logically but let me help you see the light and why these reasons could be a bad idea.  Engagement sessions are a trial run for wedding photographers too.  If you choose not to have them done,...

Wedding and Portrait Photography by Arin

Wedding and portrait photography wasn't my goal when I started this business almost 7 years ago.   But I did have a young daughter that was always with me that I did dream of making this a mother/daughter team with.  At the time, Arin was only 11 when I put her first DSLR camera in her hand.  I myself had just learned how to shoot manually so this was like the "blind leading the blind" into the photography world.  Well, little did I know that it was so much easier for a kid to learn manual mode than it was for an adult that had shot automatic for 30 years. Even though Arin wasn't physically shooting at my portrait sessions, she was always with me so she got to see how sessions...

Marylake Camelite – Erin’s Film Bridals

Marylake Camelite Monastery was the perfect location for Erin's Bridals!  When we were trying to come up with a location that best fit Erin's dress and vision, I immediately thought of the lighting at Marylake.  And the sun did not disappoint us that day. I am finally getting Erin's film Bridals posted and I couldn't be more excited about how they look.  I have slowly been implementing film into my wedding galleries this year and I am so pleased that my brides are noticing the difference between film and digital, and how much they are appreciating the beauty of film! Erin along with her mother and sister, met me at Marylake late one afternoon and when we realized that we needed a place to change because the monastery was closed for prayer,...
