My passion is and has always been capturing images that are full of life and the love that families, individuals, and couples share during intimate moments, whether they’re getting married or just enjoying a Thursday afternoon. My goal is that every photograph I share with my clients glows with love, honesty, and beauty that takes them back to that moment to relive and rekindle the experience over and over again, year after year.
I’m a southern girl at heart and can’t go a day without sweet tea—and that comes through in my photographs that drip with the sweet Southern charm my life and family has been steeped in. You’ll know, the first time you meet me, I like to take things slow and thoughtfully, whether it’s how I pronounce my words or how I shoot my photographs.
Above all, my focus is on family. My daughter, for whom my company is named, helps as a second shooter on many of my wedding bookings.
I strive to help my clients slow down, take in the scene the way it was meant to be experienced, and live in the moment. I shoot with a mixture of digital and film photography because it allows me to do what I do best—take full advantage of natural light and the soft textures of classic photography. The feeling film gives when you’re holding the album in your hands just can’t be duplicated with today’s modern, cool technology that can often overshadow the warmth and quiet passion in memories of an intimate moment.
I love small details that I can capture in the moment that can bring a memory back to life. Whether it’s every day life or one of the most important days in your life, details are the things we remember. The way being buttoned into a wedding dress by a mother feels. The laughter at a funny joke only family really understands.
It is the real and raw emotions that I love capturing the most. My goal is that every photograph I share with my clients helps them remember the small things that make life special. Capturing details of a day creates a centering pace that marks different points of a memory and helps my clients piece together all the small memories together into a big, beautiful moment in time.
I fell in love with photography during afterbirth sessions with my sisters and learned that unstaged photos are the ones we love the most.
