Film Photography – a new adventure

Film photography is my new obsession.  Two-three years ago, my inspiration photographer and friend  Julie Paisley started shooting film.  I fell in love with her work all over again but I didn't realize it was because of film.  I really thought it was a new way she was editing so I decided to try it with my digital images.  No matter what I did, my images weren't having the same tone as hers (I could never achieve her awesomeness).  And then in October of 2014, Julie shot my daughter's wedding in film and I got to watch her in action with film (never mind that I have attended at least 5 workshops of hers and seen her in action every time).  So when she offered a film workshop at her...

Ashley-Alexander House Wedding

The weather in Arkansas can be unpredictable in October but there couldn't have been a more perfect day at the Ashley-Alexander House in Scott on October 17, 2015.  A perfect day for the perfect couple, Todd and Erin.  They were married with friends and family as witnesses and a Southern pecan orchard as a backdrop. Todd and Erin met in 2009 when both were freshman at Arkansas State University.  They became friends but they had a connection like no one else.  Todd moved back to Missouri in 2010 but they never lost contact.   Finally in July 2014 they reconnected for good on September 23, 2014  which happen to be Erin's grandparents 71st wedding anniversary, Erin and Todd began dating.    By Thanksgiving, Todd was ready to ask Erin to marry him.  So on...

St. Rose Catholic Church Wedding

Tyler and Morgan were married at Morgan's childhood church, St. Rose Catholic Church in her hometown of Carlisle, Arkansas. I didn't grow up in the town of Carlisle, but I did marry into it.  And one of the first families that I got to know was the Schafers.   In our small farming community, generational farming families all know one another especially when our children were the same age.  Oh and Morgan'e mother taught my kids in elementary school so growing up in a small community helps to solidify those relationships. I can't tell you how amazing it feels to have a bride and her family trust the "local" girl to capture such a special day not only once but twice for them.  I captured Morgan's sister Emily's wedding last February and...

Hunter and Taylor Are Married

Taylor and Hunter met in college at the UofA in the winter of 2011.  And that is exactly where Hunter proposed to Taylor 3 years later!  They took a little road trip back in February 2014 to have look for their names on the Senior walk.  When Taylor took Hunter's picture by his name, Hunter ask Taylor to share that last name.  And that is exactly what Taylor did on March 21, 2015.  Thanks for letting me capture your love over the past year!  I have enjoyed every minute of it! Make up: Lacy Hall Flowers: Fairy Tale Floral Venue: The Greens at North Hills  ...
